Harris County Tax Office Weather Closure

Tax Office Call Center Open and Online Services Available 24/7

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Ann Harris Bennett advises customers that all Tax Office locations closed today at 2 p.m. and will reopen at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, weather permitting.

“Harris County Tax Office locations are closed due to the severe winter weather moving into the area, however, call center employees are safely working from home and are available to assist customers,” said Bennett. “Additionally, a large number of employees are also working at home continuing to perform their normal operational duties. Auto registration renewals and property tax payments may be made online 24/7.”

Options for renewing your vehicle registration online, or by mail:

• Online: Visit www.hctax.net/ to renew online. Online renewal is available up to twelve (12) months past your registration expiration date.
  
  
• Mail: Return the bottom portion of your registration renewal form, payment, copies of insurance and inspection to:

Paying Property Taxes Online or by Phone

Property tax payments may be made by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Credit/debit card, or free e-check payments may be made online at www.hctax.net, or by phone at 713-274-(CARD) 2273. Checks and money orders may be mailed to P.O. Box 4622, Houston, TX 77210-4622.

Property owners may request an installment payment plan online at www.hctax.net, by email at installmentpaymentplan@tax.hctx.net, or by phone at 713-274-8000.
