Harris County Property Taxes due
January 31, 2024

Tax Office Open for Payments In-Person, Online, and by Phone

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Ann Harris Bennett reminds property owners that the last day to pay most 2023 property taxes is Wednesday, January 31, 2024, to avoid penalty and interest, which will begin to accrue on February 1, 2024. Generally, all property tax payments are due by January 31 of the calendar year following the property tax year.

All Harris County Tax Office locations will remain open until 5:30 p.m. on January 31, 2024, the property tax deadline.

“Harris County property owners are reminded that the property tax deadline is Wednesday,” said Bennett. “Property owners may choose from many convenient options to pay their 2023 property tax statement, such as paying in person, online, or by phone.”

Property tax payments may be made by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Credit/debit card or free e-check payments may be made online at www.hctax.net or by phone at 713-274-(CARD) 2273. Checks and money orders may be mailed to P.O. Box 4622, Houston, TX 77210-4622.

“I also encourage individuals to contact my office if they have questions about their property tax statements. We’re here to help,” added Bennett.
