New Harris County Tax Office Opens December 1

Conveniently Located in Spring, TX to Assist Customers in the Northwest Area

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Ann Harris Bennett proudly announces the Dec. 1, 2021 opening of the Cypress Hill Harris County Tax Office in Spring, TX.

“The new Cypress Hill office will once again provide Tax Office customers in northwest Harris County another option for completing their auto and property tax transactions,” said Bennett. “Hurricane Harvey damaged the previous Cypresswood Tax Office in 2017. The new location is opening just in time to help property owners during the 2021 property tax season.”

The Harris County Tax Office now has 16 locations with the opening of the Cypress Hill branch and all locations handle automobile and property tax services. The address for the new office is:

The Cypress Hill Tax Office will be open for walk-in customers Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. except for individuals who need to transfer vehicle titles and for new residents. Customers who need to complete a title transfer, or who are new residents, must schedule an in-office appointment online at www.hctax.net.

Property owners may pay, or drop off, their property taxes at any Tax Office location. Property tax payments may be made by cash, check, money order, or credit/debit card. Property tax accounts may also be paid by a free e-check online at www.hctax.net, or by phone at 713-274-(CARD) 2273. Checks and money orders may be mailed to P.O. Box 4622, Houston, TX 77210-4622.

*Special note – VISA changed their debit card transaction fees for property taxes paid online and by phone. All Visa debit card transaction charges are now 2.35% of the transaction with a $1.00 minimum.

If a property owner is struggling to pay their property taxes, they may request a payment plan agreement. Payment plans range from 12 to 36 months.
