Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector & Voter Registrar Ann Harris Bennett reminds eligible unregistered voters that October 10, 2023, is the deadline to register for those who want to vote on November 7, 2023.
October 10 is also the cut-off date for making any corrections or updates to existing voter registration records, like address or name changes, before the November election.
Texas law requires eligible unregistered voters to register by the 30th day before the election day in which they would like to vote.
“My staff is busy conducting voter registration events to ensure eligible unregistered voters have the opportunity to register before the state’s deadline,” said Bennett. “Additionally, due to the recent transition of voter registration duties, I encourage all voters to review their voter registration records because all updates or corrections must be made by October 10.”

Voter registration applications may be downloaded from www.hctax.net or found at U.S. Postal Offices, public libraries, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, and other government offices.
Call 713-274-8200 for voter registration assistance in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese. Mailed applications must have a postmark of October 10, 2023, to be considered timely.
