In order to encourage voter registration, Texas election law provides for County Voter Registrars to designate individuals to assist in the registration of eligible persons to vote. These individuals are appointed as Volunteer Deputy Registrars and operate under State rules and the supervision of the County Voter Registrar.

To be eligible to serve as a Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar, you MUST be:

A volunteer deputy voter registrar may not receive another person's registration application until they have received their certificate of appointment and completed the mandatory training.

Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar appointments made during 2018-2019 expire at the end of 2019. By law, all volunteer registrar appointments expire on Dec. 31 of even-numbered years.

RSVP no later than 48 hours in advance to receive your certificate of appointment on the same day of the VDVR training. If no RSVP is submitted, you can still attend and receive your certificate of appointment by mail within 10 business days after completion.

All participants must arrive on-time and attend the training in its entirety on a first-come, first serve-basis. Trainings are approximately one hour.
