Thank you for your interest in signing up for webDEALER with Harris County.
The information below is for dealers located in Harris County. The requirements listed here (Equipment Requirements) would be for dealers who will be issued inventory and need to manage inventory from their dealership. You will need a computer with high-speed internet access, a scanner, and a rubber “Surrendered” stamp. All this information is included on this list here Equipment Requirements. Please find a link to the webDEALER manual here. Please make sure to familiarize yourself with the step-by-step instructions, as we currently do not have the capability to conduct hands-on training. You are required to set up with ACH. We pull the funds from your account, so you must ensure that the limit is high enough to allow us to ACH the total amount you have submitted. This process eliminates the need to mail in a check, which also reduces the risk of any potential errors with the check. Please understand that repeated misuse of the ACH program, including returned payments, will result in your dealership being suspended from webDEALER.
Every employee using webDEALER must have their own unique login credentials. Under no circumstances should passwords or login credentials be shared. Sharing access could expose your dealership to cyber fraud, as the same login is valid in ETAG, ETITLE, and webDEALER. You need the ability to restrict, limit, and delete access to your account as needed.
If you permit a title service to process work on behalf of your dealership, you must complete the authorization letter (TS-8). The title service will then submit this letter to the Tax Office for approval from the Special Investigation Unit (SIU). The title service will not be given access to process work for your dealership until approval has been granted. Once approved, you can provide them with login credentials.
Additionally, to streamline the process and limit contact, you will have the option to submit prepaid return slips so that we can process and mail your license plates and stickers to your dealership. You can also choose a branch location where you will pick up your license plates and stickers. You may also e-mail us the prepaid slip, so you will not have to worry about mailing it. This is the most recommended method to ensure a seamless process.
